Instructional Superintendent for Cluster IX
Thomas Anderson is the Instructional Superintendent for Cluster IX, where he supports principals and staff in high schools.
Mr. Anderson has enjoyed twelve plus years of service as a public school administrator in Montgomery County and Prince Georges County in Maryland, and in Chicago, Illinois. During that time, Mr. Anderson has served as a high school principal, an executive director of schools, and most recently as the founding principal of a 7th - 12th grade charter school in the south-side of Chicago, Illinois.
Mr. Anderson has managed urban schools with staffs consisting of more than 200 individuals, and with student bodies larger than 1,600. For the past five years, Mr. Anderson’s efforts have precipitated academic achievement which has met NCLB standards, increased SAT and ACT scores, and improved college acceptance and enrollment rates.
Mr. Anderson completed his master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction at Howard University, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Rhode Island.
