Mark King is the Instructional Superintendent for Cluster VII, where he supports principals and staff in middle schools.

Professional Experience
Mr. King has worked in Prince George's County Public Schools since 1994. He has served as a teacher, assistant principal (6 years) and principal (4 years) at the middle school level and has also been a high school principal for the past two years. He has been a part of administrative teams that have reached Maryland’s Annual Measureable Objectives seven out of the past nine years. Mr. King was the winner of the 2007 Excellence for Minority Achievement award given by Maryland State Department of Education and the Vanguard award winner during that same year. He was the principal of the first middle school in Prince George's County to be removed from the state's reconstitution eligible list (2005).

Mr. King holds a Bachelor of Science degree in history education, as well as a Master's degree from Florida A&M University. He is currently a doctoral candidate at Bowie State University.
