Nominate a Teacher for an Award



We are now accepting nominations for the 2014 teaching and support staff awards. If you or someone you know has been touched by an incredible educator this year, please take a minute to nominate him or her!

Teachers can be nominated for the following awards (through one nomination process):

A few important notes:

  • Letters of nomination may be written by an administrator, colleague, student, parent, community member or master educator. 
  • There is a single nomination process for these four teaching awards. If you submit a  letter of nomination using the form below, your nominee will be considered for all applicable teaching awards. 
  • If your nominee is a first year teacher, please be sure to check the appropriate box on the form so that he or she can also be considered for the New Teacher of the Year Award.  
  • Winners of the awards will be announced at the Standing Ovation for DC Teachers.

We are accepting nominations throughout the 2013-2014 school year. Winners will be announced in fall 2014.

Please note: If you have nominated a teacher in the past, or if the teacher you would like to nominate is a past recipient of a DCPS award, please don’t hesitate to nominate him or her again this year.

Nominate a Principal for an Award



We are now accepting nominations for the 2013-2014 Excellence in Leadership Award and the Rubenstein Awards for Highly Effective Leadership . If you or someone you know has been touched by an incredible principal this year, please take a minute to nominate him or her!  

Letters of nomination may be written by an administrator, teacher, student, parent, community member or master educator. 

In order to make the nomination and selection process as straightforward as possible, we use a single nomination process for all principal awards. If you submit a letter of nomination using the form below, your nominee will be considered for the Excellence in Leadership Award and the Rubenstein Awards for Leadership.

Award winners will be selected at the end of the 2013-2014 school year and announced in Fall 2014.
