Today, the Chief Technology Office’s GIS program announces the release of new aerial photography taken on a clear day in April and June of 2012. The National Geospatial Agency (NGA), through our partnership with the United States Geological Survey (USGS), provided this imagery for public distribution and use. This imagery has a resolution of 30 centimeters (approximately 1 foot). The projected coordinate system is UTM Zone 18N with a NAD83 (NSRS2007) datum.
The imagery will be available to the public for previewing and integration on OCTO’s web map and data services library when the 10.1 arcserver platform is deployed later this year. It will be available as two cached map services: as web Mercator and Maryland State Plane NAD 1983.
A corresponding compressed file, created by mosaicking all 112 USGS tiles together, is also available. Requests for the compressed file in digital format, which requires commercial GIS software to view, can be sent to email@example.com. To obtain a printed map, please complete a map order form and submit to the Office of Planning at firstname.lastname@example.org.
