Mayor Gray Announces Expansion of Pilot Workforce Incentive Program across the District

of General Services (DGS) Interim Director Brian Hanlon will announce that the successful pilot Workforce Incentive Program (WIP) will now be expanded citywide to provide hundreds of potential jobs for D.C. residents.

BACKGROUND:
The Workforce Incentive Program (WIP) pilot was implemented by the Office of Public Education Facilities Modernization (OPEFM) with the goal of recruiting and hiring D.C. residents to work on five school modernization construction projects this summer. The five District-funded school construction projects included: Hart Middle School Phase 1 (Ward 8); Seaton Elementary School Phase 1 (Ward 2); Maury Elementary School Phase 1 (Ward 6); Langley Education Campus (Ward 5); and reconstruction of Takoma Elementary School (Ward 4).
