(Washington, DC) Today the Gray Transition Team released the list of donors to its “One City Fund.” The Fund was set up to finance expenses related to Gray’s transition work and his inaugural events. In light of the District of Columbia’s budget crisis, then Mayor-Elect Vincent C. Gray opted to seek private contributions rather than accept city funds.
“I am profoundly appreciative of the financial support from the many individuals, businesses and organizations that contributed to the One City Fund and understood the budgetary challenges the District of Columbia is facing,” said Mayor Gray. “Many shared with me that their gracious decision to donate private monies was the right thing to do so that the city would not have to use its funds for these purposes.”
To date, the contributions total $669,860. The donor list is attached and will be posted on www.graytransition2010.org.
