(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Mayor Vincent C. Gray launched a new communications outreach effort today in partnership with the Washington Post. Called “D.C. Mayor’s Office Live,” the initiative features Mayor Gray answering online questions submitted by Post readers in real time. The bulk of the questions posed to Mayor Gray during today’s inaugural online effort were related to either the pending federal shutdown or the District’s recently-announced fiscal year 2012 budget.
“I’m extremely excited about this new venture with the Washington Post,” said Mayor Gray. “Now we have another way to communicate with District residents, gain more knowledge about their needs and convey how the city is addressing those needs.”
“D.C. Mayor’s Office Live” will run twice a month at http://washingtonpost.com. The online program will feature Mayor Gray or a member of his administration for each discussion. Participants are asked to post their questions and subsequently vote for the best questions submitted by other readers. Mayor Gray will then answer the most popular questions, as voted by the participating readers.
