  • 899 North Capitol Street, NE: Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF), Department of Health (DOH)
  • 1133 North Capitol Street, NE: DC Housing Authority (DCHA)
  • 810 1st Street, NE: (Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking)
  • 1200-1300 1st Street, NE: District Department of the Environment (DDOE), DC Public Schools (DCPS) central office, Department of Health (DOH)
  • 33 N Street, NE: Department of Human Services (DHS)
  • 35 K Street, NE: Department of Mental Health Clinic

In addition, the DC Department of Human Services (DHS) is assisting families in the affected area with applying for and receiving support to purchase food to replace that spoiled during the power outage. The DC Department of Health recommends discarding any foods that were refrigerated at the beginning of the power outage.

DHS will be on-site at the Walker-Jones Education Campus, 1125 New Jersey Avenue NW, until close of business Friday to accept replacement-food-stamp applications for customers who experienced food loss due to the power outage. Customers who are eligible must be:

  • Current Food Stamp recipients who lived in a residence that experienced recent power loss; and
  • Able to attest to the estimated value of the food loss

They must bring proof of identity (photo ID) and proof of residence. The amount of the benefit cannot exceed their normal food-stamp allotment.
