Media Contacts

(WASHINGTON, DC) – Due to the recent heavy rain, the Passing of the Peace – Rose Petal Ceremony scheduled as part of the District’s weekend of observances commemorating the 10th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks will now take place at the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, 1st floor Grand Lobby (enter on D Street) NW at 12:00 noon.

The ceremony was originally scheduled to take place at Hains Point on DC’s Southwest Waterfront, but the four days of continuous rains have made the grounds soggy and inconvenient for residents.
