(WASHINGTON, DC) – Mayor Vincent C. Gray today accepted a request from Lorraine Green to withdraw her nomination as the chairperson of the Washington Convention and Sports Authority. Green said she has decided to re-establish a business venture she put on hold several years ago and therefore cannot assume the WCSA position.

The Mayor said Ms. Green would have been a great chairperson and would have brought a great deal to the table given the respect she has garnered and her prominent relationships with the business and convention-related sectors. Mayor Gray wishes Ms. Green much success in her business venture.
