(Washington, DC) – Mayor Vincent C. Gray and John E. Hall, Director of D.C. Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) announced that the Department of Housing and Community Development located at 1800 Martin Luther King (MLK), Jr., SE within Ward 8 will be closed on Monday, August 29, 2011. The office experienced minor damage from Hurricane Irene but continues to be without power. Therefore, non-essential employees will have administrative leave for the day. Essential staff will be available at the office’s Housing Resource Center located on the first floor of 1800 MLK to respond to public inquiries.
