Raymond Recreation Center Project 


A new recreation center is coming. The DC Department of General Services (DGS) and the DC Department Parks and Recreation (DPR) will demolish the current Raymond Recreation Center and construct a new recreation center along with outdoor improvements. The new recreation center will be attached to the Raymond Elementary School. Some features of the new facility include:

  • Indoor gymnasium
  • Computer lab
  • Game room
  • Fitness room
  • Multipurpose rooms
  • Locker rooms
  • Offices

The project also includes exterior improvements, such as new play equipment and landscaping.

Schedule and Status
Construction of the recreation center will start in November 2011 and is expected to be complete in February 2013.
