Business Opportunity and Workforce Development Center

“Building Bridges, Linking Opportunities”

Through the financial support of the US Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration, DDOT administers two federal programs aimed to fulfill its mission to help small business entrepreneurs successfully compete for procurement contracts in transportation construction.

Guided by Title 23 CFR Part 230 Subpart B, and Title 49 CFR Part 26, the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise/Supportive Services (DBE/SS) and the On-The-Job Training/Supportive Services (OJT/SS) programs are designed to serve your business needs. DDOT certified DBEs enjoy an array of services through the DBE/SS and OJT/ SS programs. A fact sheet [PDF] outlining the services provided is linked below.

DDOT offers a community-based resource center to serve busy entrepreneurs’ business needs. The Business Opportunity and Workforce Development Center (BOWDC) is a central business hub that provides up-to-date information on contracting and procurement opportunities for DBE firms. Conveniently located in Historic Anacostia, two blocks from the Anacostia Metro Station on the Green Line, the center provides information regarding employment and procurement opportunities with major transportation agencies throughout the Washington Metropolitan Region.
