(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) today unveiled dTAP 2.0, an updated beta version of the department’s Transportation Access Portal which provides the public with a wealth of performance data and project information in an easy to use online dashboard.

“We continue to push to make DDOT more and more transparent and accountable to the residents of the District,” said DDOT Director Gabe Klein, “and this version of dTAP is a tremendous leap forward. We’ve made it more user-friendly and easier to navigate. We’ve also expanded it to include more than the details of our construction projects, adding other performance data and information that really opens a window into the agency.”

By visiting dTAP, at dashboard.ddot.dc.gov, you can now review financial data, customer service scores, traffic safety statistics and a report on the overall condition of the District’s roadways. There is also a link to the new DC Circulator Dashboard, and more features will be added in the near future.

DDOT has also made significant enhancements to the projects section of dTAP. Residents can click on their ward displayed on a District map to see a list of projects under design or construction. Prominent gauges indicate the percentage of project tasks that are on-time and on-budget, and visitors to the site can track how much of a project’s budget has been spent to-date. Project documents are also easier to find and include the schedule of work from preliminary planning and design through the completion of construction. More than 50 projects are currently loaded into the dashboard.

“This is a platform we will continue to build on and we are pushing hard to add more data and documents, and to update them as often as possible,” said Director Klein. “Eventually we envision this will not only be an external dashboard, but also a tool we use internally because we will be relying on the same information we supply to the public.”

Want to connect with the Department of Transportation? In addition to dTAP, DDOT utilizes a number of tools to communicate with residents including email news alerts, Twitter, Facebook, and the department’s official blog DDOT Dish. For more information please visit ddot.dc.gov/social.
