Traffic Shift Planned for Sherman Avenue, NW

DDOT will be shifting traffic onto the west side of Sherman Avenue to accommodate roadway reconstruction activities for the Sherman Avenue Streetscape Project.

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced it will be shifting traffic onto the west side of Sherman Avenue, NW between Barry Place and Fairmont Street on or about Wednesday, August 17, 2011. The shift is required to accommodate roadway reconstruction activities for the Sherman Avenue Streetscape Project.

One northbound and one southbound traffic lane will be kept open along this stretch.

The shift is scheduled to remain in place for an estimated eight-month period.

Temporary signage will be posted to alert and guide the traveling public through this area. DDOT encourages all motorists to stay alert as they travel through this corridor.
