Single Lane Closures Required for Bridge Inspections on Southeast Freeway and Massachusetts Avenue

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is currently conducting a series of bridge inspections on the Southwest Freeway between M and 11th Streets in southeast Washington and Massachusetts Avenue over Connecticut Avenue in northwest Washington. These inspections will continue through Friday, October 28, 2011; weather permitting.
Each inspection area will require a single lane closure or rotating lane closures, from left to right, to ensure a safe work zone and maintain safe conditions for the traveling public. All inspections will take place between 10 am and 3 pm. The bridge locations and types of closures are as follows:

Southeast Freeway (I-395) over M and 11th Streets, SE
Ongoing through Thursday, October 20, 2011
There will be alternating right and left lane closures on the westbound Southeast Freeway over M Street and 11th Street

Massachusetts Avenue, NW over Connecticut Avenue (near DuPont Circle)
Wednesday October 19, 2011
There will be alternating right and left hand lane closures on northbound Connecticut Avenue under Massachusetts Avenue followed by alternating right and left lane closures on southbound Connecticut Avenue
