(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced it will implement single lane closures to accommodate annual bridge safety inspections at two locations: on the 10th Street Mall Bridge, located over D Street adjacent to the L’Enfant Promenade, and the Anacostia Freeway (I-295) Bridge over Suitland Parkway.
The lane closures will take place between 10 am and 3 pm.
Inspection of the Anacostia Freeway (I-295) Bridge over Suitland Parkway
- Tuesday, February 28
The closure entails an alternating right and left lane closure on northbound Suitland Parkway under I-295.
Inspection of the 10th Street Mall Bridge over D Street/L'Enfant Promenade
- Thursday, March 1
The closure entails a right lane closure on westbound D Street under the 10th Street Mall followed by a right lane closure on eastbound D Street under the 10th Street Mall, then a right lane closure on southbound L’Enfant Promenade under the 10th Street Mall.
- Friday, March 2
The closure entails a right lane closure on the southbound L’Enfant Promenade under the 10th Street Mall followed by a right lane closure on the northbound L’Enfant Promenade under the 10th Street Mall.
- Monday, March 5
The closure entails a right lane closure on the northbound L’Enfant Promenade under the 10th Street Mall.
Variable message signs will be posted to alert motorists about the closures and guide them through the area.
