(Washington, D.C.) Starting at 8 p.m. today the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close the Route 50 West ramp on the outbound Roosevelt Bridge (I-66), weather permitting. The closure will be required to allow crews to continue preservation repairs on the ramp.
The ramp will likely remain closed through Sunday, July 28 and will reopen prior to the morning rush-hour period on Monday, July 29.
In addition this ramp will also be closed daily between 8 am and 3:30 pm starting July 29 through August 19.
While the ramp is closed traffic will be directed across the outbound Roosevelt Bridge (I-66) to Lee Highway then to Fort Myer Drive and onto Route 50 West.
Temporary signs will be in place to alert and guide the traveling public in this area.
DDOT encourages all motorists to stay alert as they travel in this corridor.
All construction-related work and dates are subject to change, depending on weather, material and contractor availability or other unforeseen conditions.
For more information about this work or lane closures, please contact DDOT Project Engineer Eric Cole at (202) 497-7864.
