WASHINGTON, DC — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be implementing overnight single lane conditions on both sides of the Southwest Freeway (I-395) between 9th and 12th Streets starting Wednesday, January 30. The ramp to Maine Avenue, SW on the southbound Southwest Freeway (I-395) will also be reduced to a single lane. The lane closures will allow crews to prepare for the upcoming rehabilitation work that is planned for the L'Enfant Promenade Bridge.
These closures will occur daily between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am the following day through mid-February.
These lane closures will shift from the right side to the left side of the roadway as the work progresses.
Variable message boards will be in place to provide motorists with advance warning about the lane closures.
In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions, this work may be cancelled, rescheduled or extended as needed and an updated advisory will be distributed.
