Overnight Single Lane Closures for Air Rights Tunnel

(Washington, DC) Starting tonight the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be temporarily closing a lane in the Air Rights Tunnel to continue inspecting the tile system in the ceiling. The tile inspections are required for the upcoming upgrades that will be made as part of the Air Rights Tunnel construction project.

A single lane will be closed on the northbound side of the tunnel tonight at 9 pm through 5 am tomorrow morning. A single lane will be closed on the southbound side of the tunnel tomorrow night from 9 pm through 5 am the following morning.

While these lane closures take place the tunnel will be kept open.

Traffic delays will apply and temporary signs will be in place to alert and guide the traveling public.

DDOT encourages all motorists to stay alert as they travel through the work zone.
