WASHINGTON, DC — The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be conducting a series of bridge and tunnel safety inspections throughout the District’s highway network from Monday, June 10, 2013 to Thursday, June 13, 2013. These activities will require single lane closures and take place during off peak hours between 10 am and 3 pm, weather permitting.
The required lane closures and inspection activities are scheduled to occur as follows:

Pedestrian Bridge over I-295 Near Hayes Street NE
There will be a closure of the right shoulder on northbound I-295 (Anacostia Freeway) under the bridge, followed by a left lane closure on northbound I-295 (Anacostia Freeway), followed by a left lane closure on southbound I-295 (Anacostia Freeway).

35th Street NE Bridge over East Capitol Street NE
There will be alternating left and right lane closures of eastbound East Capitol Street NE under 35th Street NE followed by alternating right and left lane closures of westbound East Capitol Street NE under 35th Street NE.

Eastbound and Westbound Ramps from Whitehurst Freeway to K Street NW
There will be a right lane closure on the westbound ramp, followed by a right lane closure of the eastbound ramp.

CSX Railroad Bridge over I-395 (at East Potomac Park)
There will be alternating left and right lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-395 (Southwest Freeway) under the CSX railroad bridge.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn motorists as they approach the areas.
Motorists are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and to be observant of the inspection personnel.
