(Washington, DC) Starting at 2:30 pm today the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close northbound I-295 between Howard Road and Pennsylvania Avenue. The closure will take place to accommodate emergency work activities required to repair an overhead sign structure that was damaged earlier today.
DDOT plans to open northbound I-295 prior to this afternoon’s rush hour period.
During the closure northbound traffic on I-295 will be redirected at the I-696 (11th Street Bridge) exit.
Southbound I-295 will remain open.
