DDOT Now Conducting Bridge Repairs Along Anacostia Freeway (I-295)

The repair work will require single lane closures on the Anacostia Freeway. Two lanes will be maintained in each direction for traffic.

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is conducting a series of bridge deck repairs, overlays and preservation activities along the Anacostia Freeway (I-295). 

The work is being performed on five bridges: 

  • Anacostia Freeway over the Anacostia Park Entrance, 
  • Anacostia Freeway over Howard Road, 
  • Anacostia Freeway over Suitland Parkway, 
  • Anacostia Freeway over Firth Sterling Avenue and 
  • Anacostia Freeway over South Capitol Street.

The repair work will require single lane closures on the Anacostia Freeway. Two lanes will be maintained in each direction for traffic.

Temporary signs and traffic control measures will be in place to alert and guide the traveling public through this area. Motorists should be prepared for delays and DDOT apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this work.
