DDOT Continues Tunnel Inspections and Maintenance

A series of routine tunnel inspection and maintenance activities will start on Sunday, January 8, 2012; weather permitting.

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will continue to conduct a series of routine tunnel inspection and maintenance activities starting on Sunday, January 8, 2012; weather permitting. These activities are part of an on-going safety and maintenance effort that’s in place to closely monitor the tunnel network in the District of Columbia.

Tunnels will need to be closed in one direction to conduct these activities in a safe manner.

Temporary signs will be in place to alert and guide the traveling public.

11pm on 1/8/2012 through 4 am on 1/9/2012 Massachusetts Ave NW under Thomas Circle Westbound Westbound traffic on Massachusetts Avenue will be directed through Thomas Circle
8 pm through 11:30 pm on 1/9/2012 16th Avenue NW under Scott Circle Northbound Motorists travelling northbound on 16th St NW will be directed through Scott Circle
11:30 pm on 1/9/2012 through 4 am on 1/10/2012 16th Avenue NW under Scott Circle Southbound Motorists travelling Southbound on 16th St NW will be directed through Scott Circle
8 pm through 11:30 pm on 1/10/2012 Connecticut Ave NW under Dupont Circle Northbound Motorists travelling northbound on Connecticut Ave NW will be directed through Dupont Circle
11:30 pm on 1/10/2012 through 4 am on 1/11/2012 Connecticut Ave NW under Dupont Circle Southbound Motorists travelling southbound on Connecticut Ave NW will be directed through Dupont Circle
8 pm through 11:30 pm on 1/11/2012 K Street NW under Washington Circle Eastbound Motorists travelling eastbound on K St NW will be directed through Washington Circle
11:30 pm on 1/11/2012 through 4 am on 1/12/2012 K Street NW under Washington Circle Westbound Motorists travelling westbound on K St NW will be directed through Washington Circle
