Weekend Street Closures for the Law Enforcement Run to Remember 

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has provided information about the road closures that are planned for the Law Enforcement Run to Remember that will take place in the District of Columbia on Sunday, October 14, 2012.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has provided information about the road closures that are planned for the Law Enforcement Run to Remember that will take place in the District of Columbia on Sunday, October 14, 2012.

(Washington, DC) – The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has provided the following information about the road closures that are planned for the Law Enforcement Run to Remember External Website that will take place in the District of Columbia on Sunday, October 14, 2012.

Law Enforcement Run to Remember Street Closures

The following streets will be closed starting at 7:30 am. These streets will reopen at approximately 10:00 am.

  • 3rd Street, NW will be closed from G Street, NW to C Street, SW and all crossing streets will be closed
  • Independence Avenue, SW will be closed from 4th Street, SW to 3rd Street, SE
  • 2nd Street, SE will be closed from Pennsylvania Avenue, SE to East Capitol Street, SE
  • East Capitol Street, SE will be closed between First Street, SE and 2nd Street, SE
  • First Street will be closed from East Capitol Street to Independence Ave SE

E and F Streets between 4th and 5th Streets, NW will also be closed from 4:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Due to the heavy pedestrian crowds associated with this event, motorists are encouraged to exercise extreme caution when traveling in these areas. In addition, those wishing to attend this event are encouraged to use public transportation.
