Travel Tips for Motorists Traveling To and From RFK Stadium 

New Traffic Pattern Connects the Capitol Hill/Navy Yard Area and Historic Anacostia to Southbound I-295

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is providing the following information regarding traffic routes to and from RFK Stadium for Saturday’s DC United Soccer Game.

(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is providing the following information regarding traffic routes to and from RFK Stadium for Saturday’s DC United Soccer Game.

Motorists that are bound for RFK Stadium are advised to continue to follow northbound I-395 to the Southeast/Southwest Freeway to access Lot #8 via the RFK Stadium Access Road. See graphic below for more details.

Exit Route from RFK Stadium

Currently, access to the westbound Southeast/Southwest Freeway from RFK Stadium is closed. Motorists that are headed towards Virginia will be directed to follow an alternative route to exit the stadium following the game.

Traffic exiting the stadium will be directed from Lot #8 onto Independence Avenue, SE, then east along East Capitol Street, SE and across the Whitney Young Memorial Bridge to southbound DC 295 (Anacostia Freeway) in order to access southbound I-395. See graphic below for more details.

Electronic message signs will be in place to guide motorists that are exiting the stadium onto southbound I-395.
