Street Closures for St. Patrick's Day Parade

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has provided the following information about scheduled street closures for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade that will be held in the District of Columbia on Sunday, March 17, 2013.

(WASHINGTON, DC) The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has provided the following information about scheduled street closures for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade that will be held in the District of Columbia on Sunday, March 17, 2013.

In conjunction with this event, there will be several street closures that motorists should take into consideration:

Parade Route:

  • The parade will form on the National Mall and proceed westbound on Constitution Avenue, NW from 7th Street to 17th Street, NW, where they will disband.
  • 7th Street will be closed between Constitution Avenue, NW and Independence Avenue, SW from approximately 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The numbered streets from 7th Street to 17th Street that intersect with Constitution Avenue, NW will also be closed on from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 17.

All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions.

Motorists could encounter possible delays if operating in the vicinity of this event and may wish to consider alternative routes. The Metropolitan Police Department and the DC Department of Transportation also wishes to remind motorists in the vicinity of this event to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.
