Single Lane Closures Planned for Southbound 3rd Street Tunnel Ramp to South Capitol Street, SE

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be conducting single lane closures on the southbound 3rd Street Tunnel ramp that leads to South Capitol Street, SE, starting on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 through Thursday, January 12, 2012, weather permitting. The closures will be required to accommodate repair work that will be taking place under the Southwest Southeast Freeway on the I-395 Bridge.
DDOT will perform the construction activities after the morning rush hour starting at 10 am through 3 pm before the start of the evening rush hour. While these construction activities are taking place one traffic lane will be closed and the remaining traffic lanes will be kept open.
The traveling public can expect minor delays on the Southwest Southeast Freeway and I-395 during the times listed above.
DDOT encourages all motorists to stay alert as they travel through the work zone.
