Single Lane Closures Planned for Bridge and Tunnel Inspections 

Lane Closures Will Occur During Off-peak Hours; Bridge Segments Will Be Kept Open to Vehicular Traffic

(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be conducting is series of bridge and tunnel safety inspections throughout the District Monday, October 8 through Friday, October 12. These activities will require single lane closures between 10 am and 3 pm, weather permitting.

The required lane closures and inspection activities are scheduled to occur as follows:

Monday October 8, 2012
Massachusetts Avenue Underpass under Thomas Circle
The closure entails right and left lane closures for westbound Massachusetts Avenue under Thomas Circle followed by alternating right and left lane closures for eastbound Massachusetts Avenue under Thomas Circle.

Thursday October 11, 2012
Kenilworth Avenue under Benning Road
The closure entails alternating right and left lane closures of northbound Kenilworth Avenue under Benning Road.

Friday October 12, 2012
Kenilworth Avenue under Benning Road
The closure entails alternating right and left shoulder closures of the northbound on and off ramps for Kenilworth Avenue under Benning Road.

Variable message signs will be posted to alert motorists about the closures and guide them through the area.
