Single Lane Closures Planned for Bridge and Ramp Inspections 

Lane Closures Will Occur During Off-peak Hours; Bridge Segments Will Be Kept Open to Vehicular Traffic

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be conducting is series of bridge and tunnel safety inspections throughout the District Monday, October 8 through Friday, October 12.

(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be conducting is series of bridge and ramp safety inspections throughout the District Tuesday, October 16 through Wednesday, October 24. These activities will require single lane closures between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., weather permitting.

The required lane closures and inspection activities are scheduled to occur as follows:

Tuesday October 16, 2012
Anacostia Freeway (I-295) over Railroad Yard
The closure entails right and left lane closures of southbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) over railroad yard

Wednesday October 17, 2012
Anacostia Freeway (I-295) over Railroad Yard
The closure entails alternating right and left lane closures of northbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) over railroad yard

Thursday October 18, 2012
14th Street Bridge over Potomac River
The closure entails a right hand lane closure of westbound 14th Street over the Potomac River

Friday October 19, 2012
14th Street Bridge over Potomac River
The closure entails a right hand lane closure of eastbound 14th Street over the Potomac River

Monday October 22, 2012
Theodore Roosevelt Bridge (I-66) over Little River
The closure entails a right lane closure of the westbound I-66 over the “Little River” (the channel between Roosevelt Island and the Virginia shoreline) followed by a right lane closure of the eastbound I-66 over the Little River

Tuesday October 23, 2012
Ramp C (I-66) over Little River and George Washington Parkway
The closure entails a right shoulder closure of Ramp C (I-66) over Little River and George Washington Parkway

Wednesday October 24, 2012
Ramp D (I-66) over Little River and George Washington Parkway
The closure entails a right shoulder closure of Ramp D (I-66) over Little River and George Washington Parkway
