(Washington, DC) Weather permitting, construction related to the 9th Street Bridge over New York Avenue, NE will require intermittent nighttime lane closures for 15 minutes at a time from 9 pm to 5 am beginning Monday, February 7 through Wednesday, February 9. These closures will allow for the safe removal of the old 9th Street Bridge girders over New York Avenue, NE.

Beginning at 9 pm, New York Avenue, NE will be closed for intervals lasting approximately fifteen minutes each, occurring several times throughout each night. To minimize the impact to traffic in this busy corridor, closures are scheduled to take place during nighttime hours. All lanes will reopen to traffic by 5 am each day, ahead of the morning rush hour.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes during this period to avoid delays.

Temporary signs will be in place to alert and guide the traveling public in this area.

All construction-related work and dates are subject to change, depending on weather, material and contractor availability or other unforeseen conditions.
