Right Lane Closures Planned for Southbound I-295 at Howard Road Exit

The District of Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close the right lane of southbound Interstate 295 (Anacostia Freeway) on either side of the Howard Road Exit (3B) on weekdays between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm from Wednesday, August 15 through Friday, August 24 to allow soil testing for the preliminary design of the South Capitol Street Corridor Project.

(Washington, DC) The District of Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close the right lane of southbound Interstate 295 (Anacostia Freeway) on either side of the Howard Road Exit (3B) on weekdays between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm from Wednesday, August 15 through Friday, August 24. The closure will facilitate soil testing for the preliminary design of the South Capitol Street Corridor Project.
Throughout the work, the Howard Road exit will remain fully open to traffic.
In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, this work may be extended during these same hours on weekdays through Friday, August 31.
During the work, advance signs and other traffic control devices will be used to alert motorist to the closures. To keep everyone safe, motorists should stay alert and obey the posted speed limits when traveling through this area.
