(Washington, DC) – The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has provided the following information about the road closures for the 2012 Rock N Roll SunTrust National Marathon and the CareFirst BlueCross/BlueShield National Half Marathon and Relay Races that are scheduled to be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012.

In order to facilitate these events there will be no vehicular traffic allowed along the race routes.

The races are scheduled to begin at approximately 8 am; however some street closures will begin as early as 3 am. All streets affected by these events are expected to be reopened at approximately 2:30 pm, depending on prevailing conditions.

Motorists should expect traffic delays during the races.

The marathons will form at 19th and C Street, NE and continue forming up on 22nd Street to the front of RFK Stadium. The course map and additional details about the events are available on the event website at:
