WASHINGTON, DC – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will reduce the 11th Street local bridge to one inbound lane and one outbound lane on December 26, after the morning rush, to allow crews to complete a series of structural steel connections on the bridge.
There are currently two inbound lanes and one outbound lane on the 11th Street local bridge. The lane reduction will remain in place through January 14, 2013.
The 11th Street local bridge is scheduled to be completed next spring/early summer. Once the bridge is completed, it will open to two lanes in each direction and include a 16-foot-wide sidewalk section to accommodate bicyclists and pedestrians which will have access to the Anacostia Riverwalk Trails.
