Permanent Closure Set for Riggs Road Ramp to South Dakota Avenue

Plans are in place to permanently close the ramp from eastbound Riggs Road, NE that connects to southbound South Dakota Avenue.

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced plans are in place to permanently close the ramp from eastbound Riggs Road, NE that connects to southbound South Dakota Avenue, on or about March 12, 2012.
To accommodate this ramp closure an additional eastbound lane will be added to Riggs Road, NE for right turn traffic movements onto South Dakota Avenue, NE.
Variable message signs will be in place to guide motorists in the corridor through the new traffic pattern. Drivers and pedestrians are urged to stay alert and use caution when traveling by the work zone.
