(WASHINGTON, DC) As part of the 11th Street Bridge Project, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close the Howard Road, SE on-ramp to the northbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) overnight on Wednesday, March 20 and Thursday, March 21, from 10 pm to 5 am. Ramps on the northbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) leading to 11th Street, SE and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE will also be closed overnight on Wednesday, March 21, from 10 pm to 5 am.
During the ramp closures, clearly marked detours will be provided for travelers.
DETOUR
During the Howard Road ramp closure, motorists will be directed to follow the posted detour along Howard Road, SE to Anacostia Park Drive, SE, then onto eastbound Suitland Parkway to access the northbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295).
During the closures of the northbound Anacostia Freeway (I-295) ramps to 11th Street, SE and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE, motorists will be detoured across the westbound I-695 Freeway Bridge to M Street, SE, to access 11th Street, SE and the Local Bridge to Anacostia.
In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions, this work will be rescheduled and an updated advisory will be distributed.
