(Washington, DC) Beginning today the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is temporarily restricting northbound travel on 42nd Street, NE between Benning Road and Brooks Street. The restriction will be in place through Monday, July 11 to allow DDOT to install new under drains, granite curbs and gutters along this area.

This construction activity will employ the use of a crane to move materials throughout the work zone.

Northbound traffic can use 44th Street as an alternative to 42nd Street.

Temporary signs and traffic control measures are in place to alert and guide the traveling public through this area.
