(Washington, DC) Starting today the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is temporarily closing the left lane on the 13th Street Ramp (ramp has two lanes) that leads to the inbound 11th Street Bridge from Anacostia.

The temporary lane closure is necessary to accommodate construction activities related to the 11th Street Bridge Project and will remain in place through October 31, 2011, weather permitting. The right lane on the 13th Street Ramp will remain open at all times.

Two lanes will be kept open on the inbound 11th Street Bridge to allow westbound access to the Southeast Freeway, and the two off-ramp lanes that provide access to M Street, SE will also be kept open.

Temporary signs will be in place to alert and guide the traveling public through this area.

DDOT encourages all motorists traveling in this corridor to be alert and follow all posted road signs.

This closure is in addition to previously publicized closures of the 11th Street bridges, related ramps, portions of the Southeast-Southwest Freeway, Interstate 295/DC 295 and local streets.
