(Washington, DC) The National Park Service (NPS) has provided the following information about lane closures scheduled for tonight on Canal Road. NPS, along with its contractor, Eastern Federal Highway Lands Division (EFHLD), will implement lane closures for one-night on Canal Road at Arizona Avenue, NW on Friday, May 11, 2012. The lane closures are needed to install a safety net under the pedestrian bridge over Canal Road near Arizona Avenue, NW. The contractor will attempt to complete the work in one night, weather permitting.
Lane closures will occur between 9:00 pm and 5:00 am. Expect two lanes to close, with 2-way traffic in one lane. Flaggers will direct traffic in the work zone. Construction signs will be in place to notify motorists of the lane closures. Traffic delays are anticipated.
Inclement weather may require adjustments to the schedule. The NPS will inform the public and the media of any adjustments in the work schedule.
