A series of bridge and tunnel safety inspections will be conducted throughout the District’s highway network on Wednesday, December 12 through Friday, December 14.
(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be conducting a series of bridge and tunnel safety inspections throughout the District’s highway network on Wednesday, December 12 through Friday, December 14. These activities will take place during off peak hours between 10 am and 3 pm, weather permitting.
The required lane closures and inspection activities are scheduled to occur as follows:

Eastbound Southwest Freeway Ramp to Southbound South Capitol Street
Ramp from Northbound South Capitol Street to Westbound Southwest Freeway
There will be a right shoulder closure of the eastbound Southwest Freeway to southbound South Capitol Street followed by a right shoulder closure of the ramp from northbound South Capitol Street to westbound Southwest Freeway.

Ramp from Southbound Mall Tunnel to South Capitol Street
Ramp from Southbound Mall Tunnel to Eastbound Southeast Freeway
There will be a right shoulder closure of the southbound lanes of the Mall Tunnel to South Capitol Street followed by a left shoulder closure of the ramp from southbound Mall Tunnel to eastbound Southeast Freeway.

Connecticut Avenue, NW over Klingle Valley
There will be a right lane closure of the northbound Connecticut Avenue bridge over Klingle Valley, followed by a right lane closure of southbound Connecticut Avenue.
Traffic controls will be in place to warn motorists as they approach the areas.
Motorists are advised to stay alert while traveling through these locations and be observant of the inspection personnel.
