Lane Closure Moratorium for Memorial Day Weekend 

Roadway Lane Closures will not be Permitted on Construction Projects

A lane closure moratorium will be in effect from 12 pm on Friday, May 27, 2011 and will continue through 12 pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2011.

(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) announced a lane closure moratorium will be in place over the Memorial Day weekend. The moratorium starts at 12 pm on Friday, May 27, 2011 and will continue through 12 pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2011. 

During this time contractors will not be permitted to close travel lanes for construction work. All construction related activities will take place behind barricades and in locations that have no impact on traffic to ensure maximum capacity and safety for holiday travelers.
