The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is committed to providing a safe travel environment for residents and other motorists that will be traveling throughout the District this New Year’s holiday weekend and beyond.
As we approach the holiday weekend I am urging motorists to be extra cautious on the roadways. Although we are temporarily lifting a majority of the existing roadway closures that are in place to accommodate construction work crews will continue to work over the holiday weekend. Please proceed with caution as you travel adjacent to construction work areas. Also, if possible, please consider using transit as an alternative to driving.
The DC Circulator 
and Capital Bikeshare will be operating under normal service schedules throughout the holiday weekend. Details about the Metrorail and Metrobus holiday service schedule are available at the WMATA website.
