The District Department of Transportation is proposing a modifying the evening rush hour restriction from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm to 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm Monday-Friday along northbound Wisconsin Avenue between, Calvert Street and Massachusetts Avenue, NW, in Ward 3.
WASHINGTON, DC — Pursuant to the "Administrative Procedure Amendment Act of 2000" DC LAW 13-249 (48 DCR 3491 April 20, 2001), the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is required to give a written notice of intent to modify traffic and/or parking requirements. The attached letter was forwarded to Ms. Nyasha Smith, Council Secretary for the Council, for the purpose of notification and solicitation of comments on the intent to implement the following modifications.
Currently, Wisconsin Avenue, NW, between Calvert Street and Massachusetts Avenue has an evening peak hour restriction northbound from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm, Monday through Friday. This restriction is not beneficial to the residence of this area and the congregation of local religious institutions. In an effort to accommodate these parking request while still maintain capacity and reducing delay in this section of Wisconsin Avenue, the District Department of Transportation is proposing a modifying the evening rush hour restriction from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm to 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm Monday–Friday along northbound Wisconsin Avenue between, Calvert Street and Massachusetts Avenue, NW, in Ward 3.
An on-site investigation has revealed that the proposed change will make parking available one (1) hour earlier than the current conditions and may cause some minor delays. Therefore, we recommend that the evening peak hour parking restriction be changed to No Parking from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm Monday-Friday.
All comments on this subject matter must be filed in writing, not later than thirty days (30) after the date of this notice with the District Department of Transportation, Traffic Operations Administration, 55 M Street, SE, 6th Floor, Washington, DC 20003.
