(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will be hosting an exhibit at the Anacostia Library to showcase the four (4) proposed alternatives that are being evaluated as part of the Anacostia Streetcar Extension Environmental Assessment.

Information related to the study will be displayed on the first floor of the Anacostia Library starting on Monday, August 15 through Thursday, August 18. Representatives from DDOT will be on hand during the hours indicated below to answer questions.

DDOT initiated the Anacostia Streetcar Phase 2 Environmental Assessment and Historic Preservation Study in December 2010. The study is anticipated to be completed by September 2011 and is intended to identify the best alternatives that address the project’s purpose and need, maximize environmental benefits, and minimize the potential for adverse impacts. In addition, DDOT will evaluate potential effects to cultural resources in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
