(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is planning to provide DC Circulator service east of the Anacostia River for the first time and is hosting a public meeting on Monday, June 6 to solicit input on the proposed extension to the current Union Station-Navy Yard route.
The proposed route and stop locations for the Union Station-Navy Yard-East of the River Extension will be presented at this public meeting to allow the public to weigh in on the proposal before a final decision is made.
The proposed extension was developed during the DC Circulator’s 10-year planning process in 2010 and 2011. To connect east of the Anacostia River the proposed extension will cross the South Capitol Street Bridge to serve Historic Anacostia, Skyland and the Giant Food store at Camp Simms. The route would terminate at the Congress Heights Metro Station.
