(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration are hosting two public meetings for the South Capitol Street Project on April 26 and 28. At these meetings officials will provide an update on the project, present the Preferred Alternative for the South Capitol Street roadway design and replacement of the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge and seek comments on the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS).
Included in the South Capitol Street FEIS are the evaluations for the potential environmental, social and cultural impacts associated with the Preferred Alternative.
The Final Environmental Impact Statement/Section 4(f) Evaluation
is available for public review and comment. The comment period closes on Thursday, May 12, 2011.
