The meeting will be held at the Anacostia Public Library on Thursday, August 4, 2011, from 6 – 7:30 pm.
(Washington, DC) The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will continue the public hearing scheduled for tonight to give residents a second opportunity to provide feedback on the proposal to expand DC Circulator service east of the Anacostia River. In addition to tonight’s previously scheduled meeting, a second meeting will be held at the Anacostia Public Library on Thursday, August 4, 2011, from 6 – 7:30 pm.
The final proposal takes into consideration comments received to date from two prior community meetings and a community survey.
DDOT will utilize the feedback from the two meetings this week – and any additional comments received by August 9 - to finalize the proposed East of the River expansion as well as the proposed changes to the Union Station terminus of the Union Station-Navy Yard Metro Station line, and proposed stop consolidations on other routes in the DC Circulator system.
The final planned route will be announced in September and will begin service October 3, 2011. The other proposed changes will also take affect at that time.
Each resident will be given two (2) minutes to testify. If you would like to speak at the hearing please provide your name and contact information to Sandy Castor at sandy.castor@dc.gov. If you are unable to attend but would still like to participate, please submit your comments in writing, by telephone, email or fax prior to the hearing to Ms. Castor (full contact information is below). All comments received prior to the hearing will be given the same consideration as comments received at the hearing.
Details on the final proposal will be made available to the public at the meetings and on our website: ddot.dc.gov
