(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) plans to replace three aging pedestrian bridges in the Kenilworth neighborhood with two new bridges. The current bridges carry pedestrians and cyclists over Kenilworth Avenue (DC 295). They connect the Mayfair, Eastland Gardens, and Kenilworth neighborhoods to the West of Kenilworth Avenue with the Deanwood neighborhood and Deanwood Metrorail station on the East side of Kenilworth Avenue.
These three existing bridges are located between Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue and Eastern Avenue, NE. They are located near Lane Place, NE, Nash Street, NE and Douglas Street, NE.
A meeting has been scheduled to provide all stakeholders with the details of this design study project and the anticipated time line to construction. DDOT invites and encourages all interested parties to attend.
Questions about this meeting may be directed to John Gomes at (202) 907-9475 or John.Gomes@dc.gov.
