The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) and the Federal Railroad Administration have launched a study to evaluate improvements needed for the Long Bridge, a railroad crossing over the Potomac River that serves freight and passenger rail traffic.
(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) in cooperation with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) has initiated a planning study for the Long Bridge, the railroad bridge over the Potomac River in Southwest Washington, DC. The Long Bridge serves passenger, rail, and commuter traffic for CSX, Amtrak, and Virginia Railway Express (VRE) and is owned by CSX.
