Transient Housing Licenses


Transient Housing Licenses are for businesses that rent rooms for short periods of time. Transient Licenses include Hotel, Motel, Bed and Breakfast, Rooming House and Board House. Please click below to find details on how to apply.

Get an Inn and Motel License

A building containing not less than thirty (30) non-connecting habitable rooms, suites, or combinations of rooms and suites reserved exclusively for transient guests. Each room or suite must have a private bath and at least one (1) private parking space.

 
Apartment

Get a Rooming House License

Any building or part of a building with 6 or more sleeping accommodations occupied or offered for occupancy for a fee.

Get a Hotel License

This classification applies if you have any building where not less 30 habitable rooms are reserved exclusively for transient guests, and where management or a concessionaire prepares meals in a kitchen on the premises to be eaten in a dining room that accommodates not less than 30 persons and that communicates with the lobby.

Get a Boarding House License

This classification applies if you use, maintain, or advertise a building or part of a building - other than a hotel - as an enclosure where meals and lunches are furnished for a consideration to five or more transients or borders who have sleeping accommodations upon the premises.

 
Bed and Breakfast.jpg

Get a Bed and Breakfast License

Establishments engaged in providing short-term lodging to include guesthouses, housekeeping cabins and cottages, tourist homes and youth hostels. Excludes boarding houses, hotels & motels, Apartment Houses (with three or more units) or Rooming House (with six or more occupants), and the One and Two family Rentals.
